A Midsummer Night’s Dream

The classic play swaps forest and faeries for an alternate history dystopia full of strange and twisted survivors of a Cold War gone hot. The lost lovers come from below ground, where the wealthy sat out the war in the comfort and safety of their fallout shelters. Their first trip into the light of day is far from uneventful as they quickly become embroiled in the strange ways and troubling squabbles of the world above.

“Fast quick moving – stupendous – 50s song – the apocalypse – nuclear smoke and Oberon wearing a gas mask….A versatile, large and most talented cast of young Irish actors and singers puts this exaggerated, speeded-up version on stage with some flamboyance. ”
